How to Get Care

There are two possible paths based on where you are in the VA process:

Track 1: Already Approved for VA Services

  • Contact the Social Worker at the VA Clinic where your VA physician is located.

  • Let them know you want to switch your HHA (Homemaker & Home Health Aide) services to Home Instead.

  • The Social Worker will initiate the transfer process.

  • Once the Minneapolis VA office approves the change, Home Instead will contact you to schedule an RN assessment and start services.

Track 2: New to VA Services

  • Find the closest VA Clinic to your location.

  • Contact them to establish care with a VA physician.

  • At your appointment, tell the physician you’re requesting Homemaker & Home Health Aide services through Home Instead.

  • The Social Worker will begin the approval process.

  • After the Minneapolis VA office approves, Home Instead will reach out to schedule an RN assessment and begin care.
